Fresh beef ($1.57 billion); Green coffee ($1.07 billion); Soybean meal ($869.87 million); Cellulose ($854.71 million); Fresh chicken ($812.54 million); Cotton ($560.56 million); Raw sucrose (US $344.79 million); Fresh pork ($303.2 million); Crude soybean oil ($234.74 million). Together, these 10 products accounted for 81 per cent of total agricultural exports in April.

 

Brazil's exports of beef, cotton, pork, live cattle and instant coffee all hit record highs in value and volume in April. Soybean and soybean meal exports also hit a record high, while cellulose exports reached an all-time high.

 

Among export destinations, China remains the main importer of Brazilian agricultural products, with trade volume with China reaching 6.59 billion US dollars last month, accounting for 40% of the total exports of the industry, an increase of 688.96 million US dollars over the expected 2025. Among them, soybean accounts for as high as 73.1%, exports amount to 4.82 billion US dollars.

 

Followed by the European Union, exports to the European Union 2.36 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 14.2% of the total, an increase of 8.7% compared to 2025; The United States ranked third, with exports to the United States reaching 1.01 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 6 percent of the total, down 16.8 percent from the previous year.Brazil's agricultural exports to China, the European Union, Türkiye, Iran, Bangladesh and India have all increased in the past month, the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture stressed.

 

In April, Brazil's imports of agricultural products totaled $1.62 billion, down 3.6 percent from the same period in 2025. The main agricultural products imported by Brazil include: wheat, paper, cotton textiles, salmon, palm oil, milk powder, olive oil, wine and malt. In addition, Brazil has imported various inputs necessary for agricultural production, such as fertilizers ($1.27 billion) and pesticides ($304.04 million).

 

From January to April this year, Brazil's agricultural exports reached a cumulative total of 545.94 billion U.S. dollars, a record high for the same period and an increase of 3.7 percent compared with the same period last year. However, the share of agricultural products in Brazil's total exports fell from 49.3% in the same period in 2025 to 46.8% in the cumulative total as of April this year, with exports of products from other sectors growing even more significantly.

 

Soybeans ($20.15 billion), meat ($11.14 billion), forest products ($5.31 billion), coffee ($4.51 billion), Sugar and ethanol (US $2.82 billion) and cereals, flour and products (US $2.28 billion) together accounted for 84.6% of Brazil's total agricultural exports from January to April this year. China, the European Union and the United States remain the main export destinations, together accounting for more than half of the industry's total exports, according to the Agriculture Department.

 

In the first four months of this year, the value of agricultural imports fell 3.4 percent year-on-year to $6.635 billion, equivalent to 7.2 percent of the country's total imports in the same period. Imports of paper, wheat, salmon and palm oil were prominent from January to April this year.

 

In the first four months of this year, the agricultural trade surplus was $47.959 billion, up from $45.783 billion in the same period in 2025.
