Moscow, May 20, Sputnik. The Russian Center for the Development of Agricultural Exports told Sputnik that in 2025, Russia’s exports of fish products to China reached a record high in terms of bilateral trade history.

The Russian Agricultural Export Development Center announced, “In 2025, foreign exchange earnings reached an all-time high. For the first time in years, Russian enterprises surpassed the $3 billion mark ($32.08 billion in actual terms). The previous best record set in 2023 ($28.8 billion) has now been surpassed.”

According to the Russian Agricultural Export Development Center, by 2025, Russia’s total fish exports to China will decrease by 4.76% in terms of weight (a loss of 50,550 tons) compared to 2024, amounting to 106.127 million tons.

The Russian Agricultural Export Development Center stated, “Thanks to its proximity to China and the cooperative relationships established over time, Russia remains a major supplier of fish products arriving in Chinese ports. The results achieved by 2025 not only confirm the stability of bilateral cooperation but also demonstrate improvements in its quality.”

On April 13, the Russian Center for the Development of Agricultural Exports said that Russia exported US$2.4 billion worth of agricultural products to China in the first quarter of this year, an increase of 43% over the same period last year. The volume of exports in the first quarter of this year was 2.7 million tons, an increase of 29% compared to the same period last year. According to Ilyar Ilyushin, director of the Center for the Development of Agricultural Export, both the volume and value of exports in the first three months of this year have reached the highest levels ever recorded by the center.

According to data from the China Customs General Administration, Russia’s exports of agricultural products to China amounted to US$7.98 billion in 2025, compared to US$7.34 billion in 2024. China’s share of Russia’s total exports of agricultural products in 2025 was 18.5%.
