According to the Agricultural Bureau under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation of Myanmar, new companies interested in exporting rice or broken rice to China can submit their application for consideration by June 30.
According to the provisions of the agreements on plant quarantine signed by Myanmar and the People’s Republic of China (Sanitary and Phytosanitary, or SPS), all companies applying to export rice/coarse rice to China will undergo regular audits and registration on an annual basis, in accordance with relevant standards.
New companies seeking to apply for a license/registration to export rice/broken rice (excluding companies that have already been approved) can obtain application forms from the Department of Agriculture of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation, as well as the “Technical Working Group for Export of Rice/Broken Rice to China” (affiliated with the Myanmar Rice and Paddy Association). Applications must be submitted in either (1) hard copy or (2) electronic format (Word file) by June 30.
