The Korean company World Marketing Inc. filed a complaint before the Curico Guarantee Court in the Maule region against a citizen that lives in that region and against all the parties responsible for the alleged fraud in the export of cherries.

According to the complaint, the company bought two containers of cherries from the producer from Maule that were going to be exported from Chile to South Korea. As part of the agreement, the foreign company claims it transferred the producer a total of $ 110,400 in three banking operations. However, the shipment of cherries wasnt sent to Korea last January, as had been promised, nor in the following months.

In December 2019, the seller reported problems that prevented him from dispatching the merchandise, and, in March, the Korean company was notified that the company that the citizen represented in the negotiation was not authorized to make cherry exports to South Korea.

World Marketing Inc. requested the producer to return the investment made, but to date, the company has only been refunded a part of what its owed and is still owed $ 90,000, according to the complaint.

The defendant is accused of allegedly having carried out "a series of deceptive actions aimed at obtaining illegitimate payments defrauding World Marketing."

"He deceived the company by falsely indicating that he was authorized to export to South Korea, and filling out Pro-forma invoices, which do not correspond to the official documents of the Internal Revenue Service, among other actions," they stated.

On June 17, the Curicó Guarantee Court declared that the complaint was admissible and forwarded all the information to the district attorneys office so they could open an investigation.
