Clark County, Washington’s plan to enter phase 2 of the states reopening plan was put on hold last week when 38 workers at the Firestone Pacific Foods plant in Vancouver tested positive for COVID-19.

The plant, a grower processing operation making frozen fruit, was ordered to shut down last Tuesday, according to local media reports, until all workers could be tested for the virus. One employee has been hospitalized.

Counties in Washington state may apply to enter Phase 2 of the governor’s plan for reopening if they record fewer than 10 new cases per 100,000 people for a two-week period. Otherwise, counties can be moved back to phase 1 or put back on full lockdown.

Phase 2 would mean restaurants operating at a maximum of 50% capacity with no more than five people at a table. Hair salons, nail salons and barber shops also may operate at 50% capacity. Outdoor activities involving no more than five people are permitted.
