Australian finger limes, also known as finger orange, finger lemon or lemon caviar, is a wild fruit native to Australia, mainly distributed in Queensland and NSW in the northeast regions. It is known as "caviar in fruit" because of its caviar-sized flesh. Due to its unique aroma, the Australian finger lime is favored by celebrity chefs around the world.

Finger lime has been cultivated in many varieties, and the corresponding peels are also of different colors. Generally, they are mainly green, but also have various colors such as red, orange, yellow, purple and brown. Despite its high price, it is still in short supply due to its low production, high nutritional value, good color, aroma and taste. In the case of normal climatic conditions, the Australian finger lime season starts from April to May every year.

"As one of the few importers of finger limes in China, we supply the Australian finger lime throughout the year under our private brand 12 ISLANDS,
and our supply is also the largest in the Chinese market. Finger lime has entered the Chinese market only recently, and most consumers have limited knowledge of this product," according to Hu Kehuang of Wuhan Lingyi Commercial Management Co., Ltd.

"At this stage, finger lime is generally used in high-end restaurants and bars in China. Although the price is relatively high, I am still optimistic about the market prospects of finger limes in China, especially since the eating habits and food structures of the younger generation of Chinese consumers are changing. Finger lime can be used as a cooking ingredient and also in cocktails, and that is the reason why finger limes can gradually infiltrate into the Chinese consumer market."
