Tesco has issued a nationwide recall of its Tesco Celery, Fruit and Nut Salad after the retailer confirmed the presence of undeclared mustard in the product, posing a potential health risk to consumers with a mustard allergy.
No other Tesco products are affected by this recall. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
Tesco admitted the product contains mustard “due to the presence of mustard in the mayonnaise element of the product,” but failed to declare it on the label. The recall affects the 300g pack size, with a use-by date of 02 December 2025.
Tesco confirmed that it has provided point-of-sale information in stores explaining the issue and instructing customers on how to return the product. It has also contacted allergy support organisations to alert their members.
In an official recall notice, the retailer stressed: “No other Tesco products are affected by this recall. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
The supermarket is advising anyone with a mustard allergy who has purchased the product not to eat it. Instead, customers should return the salad to any Tesco store for a full refund, with no receipt required. Further information is available through the customer contact page at tesco.com/help/contact.
The recall follows a week in which Tesco took a public stance on food sector transparency. The retailer urged the government to create a national framework to standardise environmental data collection on UK farms, warning that fragmented reporting threatens long-term food security.
The call came as Tesco expanded its data baselining programme to support 360 beef and lamb farmers in measuring soil, water and nature health.
