A successful satellite event of the world famous ISM Cologne and has been held for the last ten years. The 11th edition of the event in 2014 is poised to take place at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, concurrently with the World of Food Beijing - powered by Anuga. With Anuga satellite events in Thailand, India and Japan, Koelnmesse has proven that it has the international network and local expertise needed to build successful food events targeted at specific growth regions. This year marks an important milestone for Sweets & Snacks China to develop the Northeast China market and create a platform with brand-new trade opportunities for the sweets & snacks industry both at home and abroad.

In the last decade, no less than 500 international brands have entered the China market through Sweets & Snacks China, with their first stop being Shanghai and the Eastern China region. However, the sweets and snack food market possesses advantages in traditional consumption in North China, with a much longer consumption cycle than the South and increasingly higher spending power. For the past three years, visitors from the East China topped at 60%, while an average of only about 20% came from the north and northeast region. This is a great disparity compared to the actual market demand. Beijing, as the new venue for Sweets & Snacks China, was selected for its influence radiating surrounding provinces and the Bohai Rim comprising a consumer market of more than 200 million people.
