Get ready to greet the "Golden Age" that belongs to Chinese plant-based foods

Global plant-based food products are momentarily at an outburst stage. Since 2019, its total market share reached up to $18.5 billion and it has increased ever since with a compound growth rate of 14% every year since then. It is predicted to reach $40.6 billion by 2025. The plant-based food market in China, that is rapidly recovering from the epidemic, has been subjected to a variety of changes in recent years. With its great advantage being the possibility of local production of plant-based food products, the topic is getting more and more attention both on positive aspects of plant-based products and production as well as doubts.

2020 was the year that have marked the start of the plant base era. In association with ProVeg, we have invited some leading ingredient suppliers such as AAK, Givaudan, Cargill and Ashland to discuss on the innovations of plant base. Beyond educating people on the concept of plant base,we acted from the view of ‘application’ and discussed focusingon the sector of ‘special diet’. In 2021, we have taken plant-based ingredients as the starting point and invited mainstream plant-based product companies in the market to lead its star products in the plant-based exhibition tasting area.

From June 19 to 21, 2023 the International Plant-based Food Expo, PBF 2023 in short, will be held in the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. It will put the Chinese plant-based food market on the international map and is supported and guided strongly by China Plant-based Food Application & Promotion Alliance of CFNA.
