Urumqi Edible Fungus Research Institute Established in 1998, the Urumqi Edible Fungus Research Institute is a technology-based enterprise integrating R&D, production, and sales. Covering an area of over 60 mu (approximately 4 hectares), it boasts more than 26,000 square meters of research and production facilities. Over the past 27 years, the institute has dedicated itself to technological innovation in edible fungi, filling multiple gaps in China’s domestic fresh product market. Notably, in 2020, it achieved a breakthrough in the breeding of China’s Tianshan tiger milk mushroom (Pleurotus tuber-regium). In 2017, the institute was designated as the "Wild Edible Fungi Domestication and Demonstration Base" under the National Edible Fungus Engineering Technology Research Center, and it is currently recognized as a key leading enterprise in agricultural industrialization by Urumqi City. The institute has garnered significant accolades: In 2023, its "Tianshan Guniang · Tiger Milk Mushroom" product won the "Innovation Award" at the 4th National Conference on Inheritance and Innovative Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2025, the same product was honored with the "Product Innovation Award" at the National FFC2025 Functional Food Conference.
