US-based Vejii Holdings will be the exclusive release platform for plant-based meal replacement product Heal. The product’s online launch is inspired by a drive to help consumers suffering illnesses that restrict their ability to eat solid foods.

Heal, which was developed in Canada, contains plant-based protein, powdered fruits and vegetables, anti-inflammatory superfood extracts, probiotics and prebiotics.

All Heal products boast over thirty organic fruits and vegetables with no added synthetics, processed sugars or chemicals. All are vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO and developed to meet Health Canada guidelines.

Developed to aid patients
Paul Tylla, CEO of Heal, says the product was originally conceived to aid a progressive nervous system disorder.

“I developed Heal while caring for my wife who had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).”

“It was important to me that I be able to provide her with the highest-quality, organic and plant-based food, free of synthetic vitamins and minerals.”

Heal supplements contain over 30 organic fruits and vegetables as well as pro and prebiotics. After creating an original formulation, Heal enlisted some of Canada’s top food scientists’ assistance, he says.

Vejii comments that few meal replacements options on the market offer such a complete product that can completely replac solid foods.

“Providing a completely plant-based meal solution is something that is especially important to us as a brand, and it is not something that we have seen a lot of brands doing,” says Kory Zelickson, CEO of Vejii Holdings.

“Many of those who use complete meal replacements such as Heal rely on them as an essential part of their lives. It is important for us to offer these types of products to our customers who are following or who are even just curious about adopting a plant-based lifestyle. We want to ensure that we can provide these options on Vejii.”

Illness to athleticism
Heal is designed to provide whole food ingredients that help build strength, accelerate recovery, and optimize immune function and cardiovascular performance using targeted phytonutrients, says the company.

This is intended to aid both patients with serious illnesses and those looking for dietary additions, such as athletes.

Various professional athletes are advertising their use of Heal as an enhancer.

Mandy Gill, a vegan marathon runner, comments that she relies on Heal to help fuel her daily training regimen.

Vejii’s launch of the product comes amid a rise in sports nutrition supplements and protein innovations developments.

Last year, Lactalis Ingredients noted that interest in protein affects all sectors of the food and nutrition industries, with protein claims on product labels rising fast.

Earlier this year, Soylent Nutrition unveiled Soylent Complete Protein and Soylent Complete Energy, two new additions to its line of plant-based drinkable meals.
