Armenian fruit and vegetable exports in the first twenty days of 2017 have grown by 80% compared with the same period of the previous season, according to Mr. Robert Makaryan, Deputy Ministry of Agriculture of Armenia.

The export volumes totalled 2,300 tons against just 1,300 tons a year before. Grapes and greenhouse tomatoes were the main export categories with Russia as the largest buyer (the share of 85%).

This news follows after vegetable and potato prices were reported to fall by around 1% in December 2016 to compare with the same period of 2015. Prices for mushroom, carrot, beet, radish, onion, cabbage, cucumber, tomato, mixed greens, green bean, green pepper and eggplant increased while cauliflower prices fell by 18.2% and garlic prices by 1.9%.
