Firehook of Virginia is recalling one lot of Firehook brand Classic Sea Salt Organic Crackers because they may contain undeclared sesame.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to sesame run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products, according to the company’s recall notice posted by the Food and Drug Administration.
The Firehook artisan baked Classic Sea Salt Crackers 8-ounce are packaged in clear plastic containers with the Best By Date of 09/29/25 and a UPC code 8 99055 00063 5.
The crackers were sold at retail stores in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Virginia.
The recall was initiated on May 30 after it was discovered that the sesame-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of sesame. Subsequent investigation indicates that the problem was caused by a temporary breakdown in the company’s production and packaging processes causing the wrong labels to be applied to the product.
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.
Consumers who have purchased 8-ounce packages of Firehook brand Classic Sea Salt Crackers with a Best By Date of 9/29/25 are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 888-580-0745.
