The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced that ACC Central Kitchen LLC, a Thorofare, N.J. establishment, is recalling approximately 64,008 pounds of pork bun products due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen. The products contain sesame, a known allergen, which is not listed on the product label.
The issue was identified during routine FSIS in-plant verification activities, when inspection personnel observed that the sesame ingredient used in the pork buns was not declared on the product label.
As of the announcement, there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. However, FSIS is concerned that some products may still be in consumers’ freezers.
Recalled product:
The frozen, not ready-to-eat soupy pork bun with crab roe products were produced on various dates since Nov. 28, 2023. The following product is subject to recall:
The recalled products bear the establishment number “EST. 40031” inside the USDA mark of inspection and were shipped to retail locations in New York.
Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them and should either discard them or return them to the place of purchase.
