Gold Leaf Farming has acquired 1,850 acres of almond orchard in Fresno County, California, US from an undisclosed seller.

The seller of the almond orchard reportedly has a long history of farming in California. The almond orchard lies along the Westside of the San Joaquin Valley.

Gold Leaf Farming official Brandon Rebiero said: “As younger growers, we aim to build on the success of past generations of California farmers while leveraging technology and sustainable practices wherver possible.

“Our deep ag experience will allow us to continue to operate this farm with the highest quality standards as we expand our farming footprint.”

Neither party has divulged any financial details.

California-based brokerage, consulting and advisory firm Mendrin Group served as exclusive adviser to the seller.

Mendrin Group’s officials Al and Josh Mendrin said: “The market for almond and pistachio orchards in California is strong, with the number of buyers easily outnumbering quality orchards available to purchase.”

based in Modesto, California, Gold Leaf Farming owns and manages almond, pistachio and date orchards in California and Arizona.

Last month, the company acquired a 36-acre Medjool date garden in Bard Valley to strengthen its footprint in California.

For this deal, Matt Davis and Terry Jackson of Cushman & Wakefield’s land advisory group represented Gold Leaf Farming.

Davis said: “Reliable and reasonably priced water, along with the growing market demand for dates as a fresh and healthy snack food, made this an exciting opportunity for our client. Gold Leaf is also currently looking for additional date gardens to acquire.”
