Knockroe Inc., of Elizabethtown, PA, is recalling multiple varieties of its Bonya Yogurt Parfaits because they contain undeclared almonds, a known allergen that is not listed on the product labels.
The recall, initiated on March 29, is classified as a Class I recall, indicating a high risk of serious health consequences or death. The recall remains ongoing, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
The recalled products were distributed to retail locations in New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New Jersey.
Recalled products:
All products are 8 -ounce, refrigerated Bonya Yogurt Parfaits in plastic cups with plastic granola inserts, labeled “Always Refrigerate.” Sold in 6-unit cases for distributors and 12-unit cases for other customers.
As of the posting of this recall, no illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported in connection with these products.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled Bonya Yogurt Parfaits and have an allergy or sensitivity to almonds are urged not to consume them. The products should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.
