Flood damage in Korkuteli, Antalya has caused serious damage to watermelon, melon and tomato production fields in the area. Most of the production areas are under water.

The main reason for the flood was that a small river in the area was overcome with too much rain and flooded the production fields. The growers are asking city officials to expand the river to avoid such incidents in the future. This has been one of the many instances of flooding due to the overflowing of the same river and growers are quite frustrated with a lack of a solution. Agricultural production is the lifeblood of the economic activity in the region and such incidents represent a serious blow to the local economy.
