he Liquor Control Board of ontario (LCBO) has initiated a recall of Bombay Sapphire-brand London Dry Gin following a food safety inspection of the product. According to the Canada Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), this product should be removed from store shelves due to its excessively high alcohol content.

The recall arose from an error during production in which one batch of the gin was bottled before it was diluted to its proper 40% alcohol content by volume. This batch thus has a 77% alcohol content by volume, almost twice the level stated on the labeling.

The Bombay Sapphire London Dry Gin was distributed nationwide across Canada in 1.14 L bottles. These are marked with the code “L16304 W” and with the UPC number “6 20213 19020 8.” Consumers who purchased these bottles should dispose of them or return them to the store.
