Snack Mania Brazilian Delights Corp., an Elizabeth, NJ, restaurant, is recalling 9,722 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken coxinhas products that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.
The frozen ready-to-eat chicken coxinhas products were produced on various dates from June 27, 2024, through May 02, 2025. The following product is subject to recall:
This item was shipped to retail locations in Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
The FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
The problem was discovered during routine surveillance activities when FSIS determined that the chicken coxinhas products did not have the USDA mark of inspection and were produced in a facility that was not inspected by USDA.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
Consumers with questions about the recall can contact Camilla Gomes-Alvez, owner of Snack Mania Brazilian Delights Corp. at 908-875-1324 or snackmaniafoods@gmail.com.
