Brexit and obesity among challenges to be addressed at FDF Convention

Business secretary Greg Clark MP and UK food and drink industry chief executives will come together at the Food and Drink Federation’s (FDF) forthcoming Convention to address the triple challenges of Brexit, obesity and the new industrial strategy.

The annual event, sponsored by Lloyds Bank, takes place on 11 May 2017 at the British Library, London.

A Defra official will present the latest thinking on food and farming policy and Barry Gardiner MP, shadow secretary of state for international trade, will join a panel discussing the future for UK trade. Expert panel debates on access to the right workforce and technology, and energy policy will feature.

Nicola Blackwood MP, minister for public health, will set out what the Childhood Obesity Plan means for industry and the support companies can rely on to help deliver for consumers. Experts in government communications, research and development and consumer behaviour will help delegates understand how to buy people into healthy innovation.
