Canadian vegan food manufacturer Big Mountain Foods has completed the expansion of its plant-based food manufacturing facility in Vancouver.

With its new 70,000ft² facility, Big Mountain Foods aim to make plant-based foods more accessible to its customers.

The company said that all its products will be sold fresh and can be found in more than 6,000 retail locations.

Big Mountain Foods CEO Kimberly Chamberland said: “I am so proud of the expansion Big Mountain Foods has undergone to get to this point and we are ready to move forward into a larger facility with the top talent in place to execute our product outreach strategy across the US, Canada, and Asia over the next five years.”

The company also aims to have the facility be zero-waste by 2025.

Established in 1987, Big Mountain Foods is a female-owned company, which claims that its natural vegan products are produced using real and fresh ingredients.

It also entered a distribution partnership with grocer giant Kroger, which provided the momentum for the expansion.

The vegan food maker also expanded its portfolio with the launch of four new ‘Veggie links’ products across the US.

Big Mountain Foods said that the sausage products are produced using split peas and certified-vegan, gluten, nut, and soy-free, and non-GMO verified.

Big Mountain Foods president Jasmine Chamberland said: “With new brands entering the plant-based space, we’re ready to expand our capacity and execute our vision to be the leader in clean eating while continuing to innovate allergen-free, clean-label products with ingredients our customers know and love.”

Last November, Big Mountain Foods unveiled its plans to expand its plant-based foods manufacturing facility in Vancouver.
