Lidl Switzerland goes to 100% Fairtrade bananas

Starting this month, all bananas offered by Lidl Switzerland will have the Fairtrade Max Havelaar accreditation, which guarantees that all products are fairly sourced.

Lidl has said that the move marks another milestone for its sustainable product range and represents its commitment to greater sustainability and to improving the working and living conditions in producer countries.

According to information, the switch to Fairtrade-certified bananas (100%) is of particular significance, as bananas are the most profitable fruit in the retailer’s range.
