Pay attention! The label of infant milk powder shall not involve disease prevention, treatment function and health care function. Recently, the State Administration of Market Supervision issued guidelines for the selection of milk powder to teach new parents how to choose milk powder.

The State Administration of Market Supervision reminded that the labels of infant milk powder should not involve disease prevention, treatment and health care functions; it should not have the functions of promoting intelligence, increasing resistance or immunity, protecting intestinal tract; it should not use the images of infants and women or use the terms of "breastfeeding" or similar terms; it should not contain false, exaggerated, violating scientific principles, absolute contents or other expressions; raw material sources should not be labeled with vague information such as "imported milk sources", "foreign pastures", "ecological pastures", "imported raw materials", "original ecological milk sources" and "non-polluting milk sources".

Milk powder’s label must include information such as: food name, ingredient list, net content and specification, name, address and contact information of producer and/or distributor, production date and shelf life, storage conditions, food production license number, nutritional ingredient list, registration number, etc. In addition, it should indicate that "breast milk is the most ideal food for 0-6 months infants, and if breast milk is insufficient or there is no breast milk, the product can be eaten. Larger infant formula powder should be marked "supplementary food must be added together". The General Administration of Market Supervision has warned against buying or eating products without labels or with incomplete label information, unclear content, covering up, reprinting or tampering with dates.
