Hormel and Tyson have both announced the reopening of plants that were closed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Hormel’s Jennie-O Turkey Store plant in Willmar, Minn., reopened May 7, the company announced. “The company restarted operations today with a core group of team members and plans to ramp up production over the next few days,” Hormel said in a release.

A Tyson Foods plant in Portland, Maine, is also set to reopen after shutting down May 1. The plant was closed after 51 of its 390 full-time workers tested positive for the coronavirus.

Tyson paid workers while the plant was closed and has said that the employees, many of whom are immigrants, will be encouraged to stay home if they feel sick.
