BioCatSyn was established in 2022, led by Professor Wei Dongzhi, the founder of the NewWorld Institute of Biotechnology at East China University of Science and Technology. Leveraging mature and cutting-edge technologies in enzyme and biocatalysis, cell factory and biosynthesis, as well as process engineering. BioCatSyn aims to become an international leader in green bio-manufacturing solutions and product development platforms. Located in the core area of Shanghai, the company's headquarters boasts a 2000-square-meter research and development center and pilot plant. In 2025, BioCatSyn's intelligent manufacturing factory was completed and put into operation in Jiangsu. This factory features a 50,000 square meter production workshop, including GMP workshops.
