axSterol™ Phytosterols, or plant sterols, are white to off-white powder having a slight characteristic vegetable oil aroma. Phytosterols are a family of molecules related to cholesterol. They are found in the cell membranes of plants, where they play important roles, just like cholesterol in humans. Usually obtained from vegetable oils, MaxSterol™ phytosterols are rich in Beta-Sitosterol, Stigmasterol and Campesterol, with small amounts of other sterols.
