Human milk oligosaccharides

                                   
Human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) are carbohydrates, or complex milk sugars, that are only found in human milk. In fact, HMOs are the third most abundant solid component of human milk, outnumbered only by lipids and lactose. Scientific data indicates that each HMO may bring a unique health benefit, so each has its own structure and function – its own purpose. There are more than 150 HMOs known so far to occur in human milk. At Novonesis we are today producing the five most dominant HMOs and are developing new HMOs for commercialization. These are all supported by scientific studies.

2'-FL is the most abundant HMO in breast milk and is most researched together with LNT, 3-FL, 6’-SL and 3’-SL. Our team has successfully established the industrial production of the five most important human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) and thus launched its next product generation, the MyOli™ 5 HMO Mix, which contains both neutral and acidic HMOs. Our production runs under the quality standard FSSC 22000. Our products are available in various purity levels (up to 98%), partly also available as hypoallergenic, are all Kosher and Halal certified, produced with spray dried technology and can be offered for either wet- or dry blending.
