Stevia is a kind of natural health sweetener and medical auxiliary 

agent extracted from stevia leaves, a plant of asteraceae herb. 

It is pure white, with good taste, no peculiar smell, stable in property, no 

susceptibility to moulds, and also easily soluble in water and alcohol. It is a 

kind of sweetener ever discovered with the most similar taste to that of 

sucrose, and approved for use by Ministry of Health of the People's Republic 

of China and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology

Stevia is higher in sweetness, lower in calorie, that is, its sweetness is 

about 200-450 times as that of sucrose, but calories is about 1/300 

times as that of sucrose. It is widely used in food, beverage, medicine, 

daily chemical industry, wine, etc. at the cost 30% as that of sucrose

Therefore, stevia is an ideal alternatives to sucrose, honored as the 

"the Third Source of Sweeteners" in the world.
