1. Calcium propionate is a safe and reliable mould inhibitor for food and feed approved by the World Health Organization (who) and the food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Propionate is usually added when mixing flour, and its concentration depends on the type of product and the storage time required for various baked foods. The use of propionate in baked food can not only prevent corrosion, but also resist the formation of mycotoxin by mold.
