Kind Snacks, which made news in late 2020 with its acquisition by Mars, is in the news again with the announcement that is putting more support behind racial equality.

Kind Snacks, which made news in late 2020 with its acquisition by Mars, is in the news again with the announcement that is putting more support behind racial equality. The announcement came on January 11, when the company confirmed its continued efforts to address inequality facing Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) communities.

Kind introduced its second annual Equality Bar, which helps to support its KIND Snack & Give Back Project. The snack bars custom wrapper was designed by a Black artist and "represents a world that’s beautifully diverse, inclusive and equitable."

In addition to the snack bar, KIND is also putting its support behind racial equality through several new partnerships including:

A $100,000 donation toward racial injustice organizations such as the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and Equal Justice Initiative.

Donating 1 million KIND bars to food insecure communities as well as donating $25,000 to support the National Collaborative for Health Equity, which addresses food security and injustice in local communities.

Adopting two historically black colleges and universities--Florida A&M and North Carolina A&T State Universities--and donating $100,000 in scholarships.

"People of Color have been disproportionally exposed to long-standing inequalities rampant across our healthcare system, economy, and society," said Daniel Lubetzky, KINDs Founder and Executive Chairman.

"Overcoming these challenges will require all of us to deepen our commitment to standing up against injustice and taking stock of our own actions, big or small, each day. As a global brand and movement, KIND has an even greater opportunity and responsibility to make an impact."
