Hy-Vee Inc. is voluntarily recalling two of its Hy-Vee “Short Cuts” vegetable mix products across its eight-state region after tests showed possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

“The potential for contamination was discovered during routine safety sampling at Hy-Vee’s Short Cuts production facility,” according to the recall notice posted on the Hy-Vee website. “To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection with these products.”

Especially with holiday meal preparation this week, there is concern that consumers may have packages of the pre-cut fresh vegetable products in their homes. Both of the implicated products have a “Best if Used By” date through Dec. 3.

Hy-Vee reports distributing the recalled products in eight states, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
