The IFTNEXT Food Disruption Challenge competition has been designed to help emerging and investment-ready science of food and technology related companies gain visibility and make strategic connections to help advance the science of food and its positive impact on the sustainability of our global food supply. 

The competition is largely based around how we can feed our future planet safely, nutritiously, and sustainably, through innovation, creativity, and ingenuity.

The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) created the IFTNEXT Food Disruption Challenge Competition to address these important issues.

As part of IFT’s mission to encourage entrepreneurism and innovation, the IFTNEXT Food Disruption Challenge is a competition designed to help emerging and investment-ready food companies advance the science of food and recognise the innovations having a positive impact on our global food supply.

The competition provides a high-profile opportunity for entrepreneurs working in the technology, food, and science of food related spaces an opportunity to share, be recognised for, and pitch their unique innovations and disruptive solutions to a motivated and influential group of investors and mentors, not to mention potential customers. 

Finalists will be chosen to share their innovations in a high-profile pitch competition at IFT19 in New Orleans, June 2-5, 2019 wher they will compete to win the $25,000 competition grand prize. The audience will also selec a finalist to receive the people’s choice award of $5,000.
