According to the watchdog of MOFCOM, last week (December 11-17), the national market price index of the edible agricultural products increased by 0.5%, 0.3 percentage points lower than that in the previous week. The price index of the means of production increased by 0.6%, staying unchanged.

In the market of edible agricultural products: the average wholesale price of 30 kinds of vegetables was 4.03 yuan per kilogram, up 1.3% over the previous week, with the prices of bitter gourd, chili and celery up 8.7%, 7.1% and 4.9% respectively. The wholesale price of poultry increased slightly. Among these, the price of eggs was 9.25 yuan per kilogram, up 1.4% over the previous week, and those of the duck and chicken were 17.66 yuan and 15.94 yuan per kilogram, up 1% and 0.4% respectively. The general wholesale price of meat rose, and the prices pork and beef were 21.84 yuan and 51.46 yuan per kilogram respectively, up 0.6% and 0.3% respectively and that of mutton was 48.1 yuan per kilogram, down 0.1%. The wholesale prices of grain and food remained stable in general, with that of flour down 0.3% over the previous week and that of rice up 0.2%. The wholesale price of edible oil fluctuated slightly, with the prices of soybean oil and peanut oil down 0.3% and 0.1% respectively and that of rapeseed oil up 0.4%. The average wholesale price of aquatic products decreased by 0.5%, and the prices of crucian, carp and small yellow croaker fell by 1.7%, 1.1% and 1% respectively.

In the market of production means, the price of non-ferrous metal increased by 1.3% over the previous week, with the prices of lead, nickel, copper, zinc and aluminum up 2.7%, 2.4%, 1.8%, 1.7% and 0.3% respectively and that of tin down 2.8%. The price of steel increased by 0.7% over the previous week, and the prices of seamless steel tube, hot-rolled strip, high-speed wire rod and screw-thread steel were 5248 yuan, 4337 yuan, 4581 yuan and 4502 yuan per ton respectively, up 1.2%, 0.9%, 0.8% and 0.8% respectively. The price of coal increased by 0.5%, among which the prices of steam coal, blind coal and coking coal were 605 yuan, 854 yuan and 747 yuan per ton respectively, up 0.7%, 0.1% and 0.1% respectively. The price of chemical fertilizer increased by 0.5%, with the price of urea up 0.9% and the prices of DAP, KCL and NPK all up 0.2%. The price of basic chemical raw materials increased by 0.3%, with the prices of methyl alcohol, caustic soda and sulphuric acid up 1.2%, 0.5% and 0.2% respectively and that of sodium carbonate down 0.7%. The price of rubber decreased by 0.5%, while the price of synthetic rubber fell by 1% and that of natural rubber stayed stable.
