Royal Zeelandia Group (Zeelandia) has acquired a 100 percent stake in their Indonesian business. Since 1977, the company operated in a joint venture with PT Prambanan Kencana. Founded in 1900 by the Dutch Doeleman family, Zeelandia has become a global player in the bakery ingredients space.

Today, over 3,000 employees worldwide are dedicated to developing products tailored to local tastes and needs in about 100 countries.

“This acquisition is a new chapter in the success story of Zeelandia in Indonesia which further strengthens our leading position in the bakery industry while it fits our growth strategy for the Asia-Pacific area. We thank the people of PT Prambanan Kencana for the successful cooperation over the past 40 years and for the results, we achieved together,” says Zeelandia CEO Michiel de Ruiter.

Zeelandia Indonesia consists of a commercial operation supplied by a Jakarta-based factory that produces a broad portfolio of pastry and bread ingredients and employs approximately 270 people.

FoodIngredientsFirst has reached out to Zeelandia for further details on the acquisition.

Last month, Zeelandia presented its new range of concepts, along with a new brand positioning around “inventiveness,” at this International Bakery Fair (IBA) in Munich, Germany. During the tradeshow, the company presented a number of solutions for bread and pastry applications to help create bakery success for both artisan and industrial bakers. You can read more on this here.

During the show, FoodIngredientsFirst spoke with Ronald Panis, Global Communication Manager at Zeelandia, who highlighted some of the inventive solution concepts on the stand.” You can view the video interview with him here.
