UK-based food manufacturer 2 Sisters Food Group (2SFG) has expanded its chicken processing facility in Flixton County in Suffolk to meet the growing demand for its products from its retail customers.

The upgrade, which is part of a multimillion-pound investment programme across UK Poultry, will see an addition of new technologies, as well as the creation of nearly 100 jobs.

2SFG Flixton site general manager Allison Smith said: “The upgrade at Flixton will enable us to grow the business and provide new career opportunities for people in the region.

“This is great news for the site and acknowledges the loyalty and capability of our fantastic colleagues that continue to go the extra mile each and every day to supply our customers with great quality, safe chicken.”

The company unveiled its multi-million-pound investment programme across UK Poultry last year.

2SFG Flixton site human resources manager John Gibson said: “Young people in particular often don’t see the food industry as their first choice for a career, but we can offer a wide range of exciting job opportunities ranging from finance to engineering, from training to health and safety.

“We’ve learnt that identifying the right people the first time allows their careers to grow and we have many people that started on the shop floor now running senior teams.”
