Netherlands Izico acquires Goodlife Foods in UK

Netherlands-based Izico Food Group has acquired Goodlife Foods for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition is reported to be part of Izico’s strategy to further strengthen its position in the UK market.

Izico UK commercial director Jez Threadgold said: “The Goodlife Brand perfectly complements our existing Meat Free business and we look forward to driving further growth in this exciting product category with both existing and new customers.

“The growing awareness of frozen food quality and the rise in demand for vegetarian products leaves us perfectly positioned to fulfil consumer’s needs, not only in the UK but also throughout Europe.”

For more than two decades, Goodlife offers vegetarian products for the retail and foodservice channels in the UK.

Izico entered the UK market with the acquisition of Daloon Foods, which manufactures frozen meat-free and party food products.

Izico recently purchased Dutch frozen snacks supplier De Vries Van Oers, which delivers its products to the foodservice sector throughout the Netherlands and Belgium.

Headquartered in the Netherlands, Izico supplies frozen snacks in both private labels and under Daloon, Beckers and Bicky brands. It operates from eight different sites across Europe.
