Bunge has purchased Cargill’s soybean / rapeseed crush and oil refinery, beans discharging operation and processing plant located adjacent, in the port of Amsterdam, to an undisclosed agribusiness and food company.

Bunge, a global agribusiness and food company, will also purchase Cargill’s soybean / rapeseed crush facility in Brest, France.

The purchases are part of a deal signed between the two companies in August 2016. Cargill’s employees including 120 in the Netherlands and 51 in France, have been transferred to Bunge, as part of the deal.

"The deal is expected to improve Bunge’s presence in the European protein market."

Mead Johnson Nutrition (MJN), a paediatric nutrition products manufacturer and distributor, has agreed to acquire the spray drying and finishing assets of Australian dairy company, Bega Cheese.

The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.

MJN expects the deal to help sustain and grow its business in China.
